This is the official website of the twelfth biennial International History, Philosophy and Science Teaching (IHPST) Conference to be held at the University of Pittsburgh, USA, Wednesday June 19 to Saturday June 22, 2013. Conference registraton will open at 4pm on Wednesday, June 19 with the opening session beginning at 7pm. It will be followed by a welcome reception at 8pm. The closing session is scheduled to end at approximately 5:30pm on Saturday June 22.
The conference is being hosted and supported by the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education with cooperation of the Centre for Philosophy of Science. The Conference also thanks the Interdivisional Teaching Commission of the International Union for History and Philosophy of Science and Springer for their support.
Announcements
The printed on-site Program will contain abstracts only. An online Program and Proceedings will also be posted on this website. In order for your full paper to be available in the online Proceedings, please e-mail your full paper, in pdf form, to conference@ihpst.net by May 3. Please, use a filename like Surname_paper.pdf
First authors have been notified of acceptance and the program is in preparation. In order to have their presentation included in the program, presenters must register for the conference by May 3.
Apartments in Ruskin Hall will be released on May 3 and will not be available unless your reservation and payment are completed before then.
First authors of proposals were notified of their proposal acceptance on March 21st. Please contact the Conference Chair, Michael Ford, at mjford@pitt.edu if you have any questions.
Change of 2013 Pittsburgh Conference End Date
The conference dates, as originally advertised, were June 19 to June 23. The end date has been changed to Saturday, June 22. The conference will end at approximately 5:30pm, after the conclusion of the closing session and IHPST business meeting. This is a change from the original information, which specified Sunday afternoon, June 23, as the end of the conference.
2013 Pittsburgh Conference Proposal Deadline Extended One Week
The deadline for submitting conference proposals has been extended until Friday, March 8, 2013.
